Did I Read My Most Anticipated 2022 Releases?

I always love looking at how I did when it came to new releases I was looking forward to and to examine whether I’ve read the book, if it’s still on my TBR, or if I’m even still interested in a title.  For 2022, I posted new release posts each month instead of a most anticipated list for the year, so we’re going to be looking at those! There are MANY more books than if I would’ve made one post at the beginning of the year, so suffice to say, I did not get to a lot of these.  This also makes sense after looking at my 2022 reading stats.  There were also some months I skipped because of house hunting, moving, not having our computer set up for a while, vacation, moving again, and not having our computer set up… again. But I am excited to be able to reuse and update my graphics for another post.  Here’s how I fared and how I’m feeling now.

January Book Releases – SKIPPED

February Book Releases

From Hollywood With Love: The Rise and Fall (and Rise Again) of the Romantic Comedy – Still very interested in reading!

Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy – Likely going to skip based on so many of the bad reviews I’ve seen from friends.

YES – Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead by Elle Cosimano – On my 12 to read in 2023 TBR and just finished it yesterday! I basically devoured this one in a day and a half and it’s my first 5 star read of 2023!

YES – The Nineties by Chuck Klosterman – Loved this one! It made my top 10 of 2022 list!

House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas – *Hides behind hands* Haven’t gotten to this one, definitely want to, but also just haven’t been reading or enjoying as much fantasy for the past couple of months.

The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki – Still on my TBR!

Our American Friend by Anna Pitoniak – Almost picked up a physical copy during the B&N hardcover sale but ultimately decided to wait until I can read it from the library first. Still interested!

True Story: What Reality Says About Us by Danielle J. Lindmann – Still interested! Hoping to listen to this one on audiobook.

This Might Hurt by Stephanie Wrobel – Totally forgot this book existed so probably best to move on.

YES – The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley – Read and did not like this one at all.  A very quick read, but annoying characters.

Fake by Erika Katz – Another one I almost picked up at B&N but again, waiting until I can read it from the library first!

The Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart – Still immensely interested in this one! I was eyeing it on my shelf the other day in fact.

March Book Releases

YES – Gallant by V.E. Schwab – Really enjoyed this one, as I always do when it comes to Victoria’s books. Not a favorite of hers, but a good time while I read it!

Hunt of Shadows by Elise Kova – Still haven’t read the first book, but I do want to get around to this series!

YES – The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake – Loved this book so hard! It also made my best books of 2022 list.

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus – On my 12 to read in 2023 and cannot wait to do so!

The Blood Trials by N.E. Davenport – … I don’t think I’m going to get to this one- I’m just not a huge sci-fi reader unless there’s a thriller and/or biological aspect and I’m trying to be more realistic about that.

Witchlings by Claribel Ortega – Looks very cute, but probably won’t get to it.

Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor – Also heard mediocre reviews and took this one off my TBR.

One Response to “Did I Read My Most Anticipated 2022 Releases?”

  1. Oh man, I FEEL YOU on the War of Two Queens. I loved the first two books in the series and the third just felt SO un-edited that I haven’t continued on. They just seem so rushed and repetitive now? I’m disappointed because I genuinely loved the first two but I feel like JLA can be really hit or miss!
